Whitney Hisako Moore

Whitney Hisako Moore is an extremely passionate artist who strives to bring empathy, joy, and connection to any project she is blessed to be a part of. Most recently, Whitney portrayed Louise/Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy at Palo Alto Players and was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Regional Award for her performance. Additionally, she has performed with numerous theaters such as Tony-Award winning TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, South Bay Musical Theatre, Sunnyvale Community Players, and Los Altos Stage Company. 
Whitney is proud to be half-Japanese and created a poem entitled “The Soldier’s Fate” which follows her family’s journey through the World War II Japanese-American Incarceration Camps. She performed the piece at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and won the “Jerry Hiura Inspirational Award” at Contemporary Asian Theatre Scene. 

At UCLA, Whitney performs with Upper Lower Middle Child Improv at UCB and serves as casting as well as marketing director for The Color Box Production Company which uplifts stories featuring people of color. Whitney is also Founder/Artistic Director of CROWNE (crowneprincess.org) which partners with children’s hospitals, bringing live princess performances to sick children who otherwise would not be able to attend. Whitney has also served as Associate Director to Elena Shaddow-Harrington in A Little Night Music and at Tisch New Theatre for Cabaret. 

Whitney also interned at Creative Artists Agency in their Theatre Department in New York City, Aura Casting in San Francisco, and assisted Company Management for the Broadway National Tour of The Kite Runner.
